I can use the creative process to design products that will impact everyday life.
I decided to make a 3 of spades John Deere playing card for a couple different reasons. The first one being my volleyball number is number 3, not only is it my volleyball number it is my favorite number. I chose the John Deere design because a black spade made it a perfect fit with the colors green, yellow, and black. Also John Deere is a big part of a close friends life, and I wish to give it to him after the educational showcase.
In the process of making my card I did come across a few problems. At times the paintbrush would be too old and would mess up my paint job. Another problem I came across was the painting on wet paint. At times the paint didn’t stick and it would come up. In coming up with solutions I decided the paint that was outside the lines could be fixed by a simple outline of black permanent marker. With the wet paint removing the other paint, I simply took a blow dryer and dried the whole card before adding any marker or paint.
I am absolutely in love with my piece. Not only because it is something I love, and can give to someone as a gift, but also because it took me so long to come up with a piece and problem solve. I believe it is just a great piece overall with little to no errors in the paint job.
